They came to the United States Unicorn black nurse like a regular nurse only more magical shirt. From New York they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where my father was born shortly afterwards. Growing up, my father was immersed in Irish traditions and even learned to speak Gaelic. By the time I was born, both of my paternal grandparents had left this physical plane, but my father and his two younger sisters, Mary Ellen and Rose Marie O’Connor, kept their memories alive. When I was born Karen Marie O’Connor, my father was happy. He was very happy when my brother Dennis Michael O’Connor was born almost 2 years later. My sister Mary followed 5 years after me.
As you can see Unicorn black nurse like a regular nurse only more magical shirt, my father named his two younger children after his parents. Growing up, St. Patrick’s Day was a huge celebration in my family. My father always made corned beef and cabbage. We had soda bread and other Irish treats including Guinness chocolate mousse and special scones. My father played Irish tunes all day long and he would drink Irish whiskey. When we were old enough, my brother and I also drank Irish whiskey with my dad, although I preferred it in coffee with a dash of cream.
