Whilst I agree a way needs to be found to re-open schools in a new normal way You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are grey shirt, if I was a teacher I certainly wouldn’t trust a government who presided over the disastrous death toll in care homes with giving advise on how to open up schools again. I think the word squabbling when it relates to unions, parents and teaching staff voicing their concern over the health and safety of children and those who work in schools is highly offensive. Think about the Prison Officers who have continued to go onto their frontline where it is virtually impossible to be socially distance a lot of the time, and with virtually no public acknowledgement for the already dangerous job they do.
Their children have continued to attend school throughout this pandemic to date You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are grey shirt, but they appear to have learned nothing it has basically been a crèche supervised by school teachers. So typical to see the comments section full of privileged commentary, from people who think if children aren’t at school then they’re comfortable at home in their 3 bed detached in suburbia, fully stocked fridge, all the stimulation and nurturing they need, and parents fully equipped to support their education. People are utterly blinkered to the threat of the socio-economic impact of this, on our most disadvantaged children.
