I had something similar several years ago I coughed for weeks You may be gone from my sight but you are never gone from my heart shirt, lost my sense of smell for a year, and my sense of taste is permanently altered. Obviously that virus wasn’t as contagious as this new one. Loosing the sense of taste and smell completely has been said to be the typical symptom of the covid19 over a month in Japan. That is the biggest difference between covid19 and other infections. If you get the treatment when this first symptom appears, most of people recover very quickly or don’t get too sick in the first place. I lost my sense of taste and smell on the second week. A total loss of both senses, unlike anything I’ve experienced before.
That was already on the US list of symptoms You may be gone from my sight but you are never gone from my heart shirt, why is this just now a possible symptom in the UK I know the virus can behave differently since it mutates, but are we not sharing what we have learned. Many older people have lost sense of smell due to other causes such as allergies or other illnesses. I wouldn’t list this as a major symptom solele related to Covid19. I had loss of smell and taste in mid march, a raging fever, worst headache ever, body weakness and severe body aches.
